  The hotel itself is expensive for the services it has, really poor wifi, small rooms and small bathrooms. Everything works ok, but you pay for being close to the tele-cabin. The best of all, the included buffet breakfast.

  It has a great Spa, with optimal massages service and great attention. The jacuzzi outside in the middle of the snow is awesome.

  It is located in a complex that only has three hotels in the following sequence from the Gondola Station: AC Hotel (Marriott), Hotel Val de Neu and then Hotel Himalaia. All three share a common gateway lobby that contains various ski shops, ski school and a Haagen Daz ice cream parlor that are not listed on maps. This gateway leads to the Gondola and the drop off baggage load/unload area for the AC and Val de Neu Hotels. Himalaia has its own area for reception load/unload baggage when you arrive/depart.

  Gostei da localização, dos quartos que são modernos, confortáveis e espaçosos e também dos grelhados no buffet. Não gostei das zonas sociais pois são inexistentes - o hotel não tem uma boa sala com sofás e lareira onde se possa estar confortavelmente mas apenas algumas cadeiras e mesas no hall da recepção e no piso inferior um bar igualmente desconfortável. Mas a nota realmente negativa vai para a quantidade de louça mal lavada... é um nojo chegar à mesa do pequeno almoço virar a chávena e ela estar cheia de restos agarrados e ao tirar um prato ter de estar a escolher - 1,2,3,4,5,... - até conseguir um que esteja bem lavado, o que nos faz ficar apreensivos com a higiene e cuidado em tudo o resto.

  I enjoyed my stay at Himàlaia Hotel a lot! The rooms are nice and the staff very friendly! The best part however was the fact that The Hotel staff helped me extraordinarily getting back my left behind bracelet. I realized that I left my bracelet in the room when I got back home. They organized everything so I received my bracelet some days later in Germany! Very helpful service as a bonus. Will return for sure!!

  The most important thing is that this hotel is for going skiing. Its best characteristic is that is perfectly located to take the main tele-cabin to get up Baqueira Ski Station. Down the hotel exist a "gallery" where you can rent skies, get professor for classes, book a tour... including spend the apres-ski in a restaurant with a wine or something to eat.

  The hotel is great for its continental buffet in the mornings and for its position next to the slopes. If you like skiing, this is the place to stay even if it can be quite expensive in high season, as you won't find anything more comfortable. However if you are not just about skiing, you can find a much cheaper price in a more typical local hotel in the villages near by (Arties for ex.). Besides that, this hotel does not include car parking (17€/day!) and does not include MiniBar (you need to pay 29€ for them to fill it all for you).

  Best restaurant: In Solardu there is thr most exquisite restaurant where you will eat thr most authentic Basque dinnimg outside of San Sebastian. The restaurant is called Eth Bot and its location and decor plus its construction, history and the surrounding village is a must see. Google Maps has the wrong location for it so if you search for Restaurante Vinoteca Gris, Solardu (it is not in Tredos as Google Maps suggests) you will find it just ahead. Ample Parking is just past the Hostal Era Claverola.

  The hotel is part of a large ski hotel complex built in 2009. The hotel lacks internet wifi and 3G access from our room. In the hallway you a get wifi access, barely! At the time of this review Google Maps has the map location wrong.

  Transportation: NONE if you choose to stay outside of the main town of Vielha, bring a car because there are no taxis anywhere in Baqueira and ordering one will be very costly as they are dispatched from Vielha which is 8 miles away. This explains the massive 3 story parking complex below the 3 large hotels.

  This gallery brings you directly to the tele-cabin without going outside, and the hotel has a locker down it to storage your skies each day, you don't have to bring them to your room or to a store to take care of them. Three pair of skies (and boots) per locker.
